Nepenthes talangensis x glandulifera, BE-3665 lowland The flared peristomes of each
Description
The flared peristomes of each parent are simply brilliant and then you mix in the robust pitcher shape and dark color from robcantleyi “Queen of Hearts” and you’ve got progeny with some amazing potential
We are extremely confident this clone is not a hybrid
our spectacular “alata” (Giant x Luzon)* put out a large spike which we promptly pollinated with Nepenthes truncata(c)-Giant
Kinabalu and other neighboring mountains within Kinabalu National Park in Sabah
The “King” of Nepenthes crossed with the extremely wide peristome Nepenthes veitchii
Nepenthes talangensis x glandulifera, BE-3665 lowland The flared peristomes of eachNepenthes hybrids tend to exhibit a great degree of hybrid vigor but glandulifera hybrids seem to be in a category of their own. Perhaps its the fact that glandulifera is so isolated in its habitat on Bukit Batu (to our knowledge Chien Lee has been the only intrepid soul brave enough to climb up the intimidating rock face where this species was discovered). We have found this plant to be incredibly vigorous under intermediate and highland conditions.
